Rangers 2, Wild 1

The New York Rangers (39-27-8) defeated the Minnesota Wild (34-31-8) by the score of 2-1, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports.

...during Renney's tenure with the Rangers a 2-1 game would usually put me to sleep, but even with the lack of scoring tonight, I was completely into the game and felt the Rangers took it to the Wild. They probably should have won by two or three goals.

...with a goal and an assist tonight Zherdev has six goals and four assists in his last 11 games. While he's always a candidate to be in any coach's "chateau bow-wow," Zherdev has the skills to dominate every night.

...got to give props to Orr. He hasn't played a lot since Tortorella came to town, but he had a great game tonight. Beat the crap out of Nolan and a few scoring chances.

...i thought Sauer looked real comfortable tonight. I was really impressed by his confidence with the puck. No panic.

...a little concerned with the power play as they've failed in big spots the last two games. But I'll give them a couple of more games before I start to panic.

...the win puts the Rangers into a sixth place tie with the Penguins.

...the Rangers are 7-3 since the arrival of Avery this year and are 57-26-13 overall with him in the line-up. And some Rangers fans didn't want him back?

...off tomorrow then down to Atlanta for a date with the Thrashers on Thursday. Valiquette anyone?

Yeah, the Rangers' PP sucks but 'Sota's PK is what, second to the Rangers?

The yo-yos over at Rangers Report says the game was a snoozer. Too bad I missed it...

I was at the game and other than the 1st period and parts of the 3rd it was kind of boring...

Why in the world would you start Valiquette...this why you have one of the best goalies in the league....to ride his ass like zorro into the playoffs...no time or need for rest
