Fomer Ranger Poddubny Dies

NHL.com reports that former Ranger Walt Poddubny died Saturday after collapsing at his sister's house. He was 49.

The cause of death wasn't known.

Poddubny played two seasons for the Rangers between 1986 & 1988, playing in 152 games while amassing 78 goals and 97 assists. He was traded to the Quebec Nordiques for Jason Lafrieniere and Normand Rochefort after the 1988 season.

...RIP Poddubny.

...btw, what a terrible trade, a 40-goal scorer for Normand Richefort!!!

I actually asked for a Poddubny jersey for Christmas one year, my uncle got one for my brother instead and got me a Greschner jersey. I still haven't gotten over it.
