Grachev & Del Zotto Impressing

Brian Costello at The Hockey News takes a look at how the 2008 NHL draft would have unfolded had it happened today rather than last June. Costello doesn't include the eight 2008 draftees who are currently playing in the NHL as they’re NHLers now, not prospects.

Costello says Evgeny Grachev, who the Rangers drafted 75th overall, would now be drafted 10th overall, while Michael Del Zotto, who the Blueshirts got at 20th overall, would now be 15th.

...from everything i've read on Grachev he was an absolute steal for the Rangers. And all the concerns on Del Zotto that made him fall into the Rangers lap at 20th seems have been for naught.

Grachev really looks like he might be the steal of the draft. He's been so good that he might spend all of next year in Hartford. It's pretty amazing for a guy playing his first year in North America.

Del Zotto is a perfect example of the many reasons Sather did not need to sign Wade Redden.
