Rangers to Add Defensive Depth, Malhotra?

Michael Arace at Puck-rakers says that a number of scouts attended the Blue Jackets-Sabres preseason game last night including from the Rangers. Arace thinks teams 'in need of depth on defense might be looking at Ole-Kristian Tollefsen and Marc Methot, who are in the Jackets’ lineup, and Aaron Rome, who is not.'

Another player that the Blue Jackets were showcasing was none other than former Ranger first round pick Manny Malhotra, who they played on the first line with Rick Nash and Kristian Huselius.

...with the Rangers already having 15 forwards on the roster I'm assuming they weren't there to add another fourth line center to a team already full of them.
