Rangers Blueline Standing Out

It's no secret that the play of the Rangers blueline has been a major contributor to the quick start this season. They have been sound defensively and quick to join the rush when necessary. The two youngsters Staal and Girardi are playing like 10-year veterans, while the questions about Redden and Rozsival possibly slipping have gone out the window.

Add a shot happy, scrappy Mara to the mix and we could have one of the better defensive corps in the league.

Ryan Dixon at The Hockey News had this to say, among other things, about the Rangers blueline...

"This young season, however, has seen some Ranger rearguards start to fill important roles with a little more vibrancy."
