Rissmiller In, Korpikoski Out Against Stars

Sam Weinman at the Rangers Report is reporting that Patrick Rissmiller will be making his second start of the season playing on the left wing with Chris Drury and Markus Naslund tonight against the Dallas Stars.

This means Lauri Korpikoski is the odd man out. With Renney wanting to bring up a seventh defenseman and Korpikoski the only player who doesn't need to clear waivers, it's completely possible that Korpikoski might be sent down to Hartford real soon.

...while Korpikoski has had some solid games, he hasn't exactly filled up the score sheet, which makes him dispensable.

Weinman also reports on Tom Renney addressing the team about facing Avery tonight.

I think a 2-5 game stint in Hartford wouldn't be the worst thing for Korpikoski...Remember back in 05-06 Prucha got sent down for a few games, then came back and started his fantastic season.

Also, I think Renney's wanting of a 7th defenseman could signal his wanting to sit Kalinin. Just a thought.
