Rangers 4, Devils 1

The New York Rangers (5-0-0) defeated the New Jersey Devils (2-1-0) by the score of 4-1 tonight. For a recap and box score go to newyorkrangers.com.

...it's amazing what happens when you put a guy in front of the net on the power play. Voros looks like the power forward the Rangers have been looking for years for. Loved when he got in White's face after his first goal.

...I know Micholetti mentioned this during the game, but Paul Mara has been great so far this year. He's been in a scrap almost every game, he's shooting the puck and playing solid defense.

...by far the best game this season for Korpikoski. Very aggressive and drew the penalty leading to Voros' first goal.

...third straight game the first line was invisible.

...got to give props to Dubinsky. Not for his 3 point night (early season favorite for MVP), but for his unselfish play to get Callahan the goal, his first of the season. Not sure if this actually went through Dubinsky's head, but it's not always easy to get your first goal of the season and a player can start pressing if he doesn't get one early. Dubinsky just made sure Callahan can focus on his game and not worry about scoring his first goal.

...its amazing how Lundqvist steps it up a knotch when Brodeur is at the other end. He's now 13-2-4 all time against Brodeur and the Devils. Despite having an easy first period, Lundqvist made some amazing saves in the second and third to keep the Rangers in the lead.

...on what started as a very sad day for the Rangers and their fans, it was nice to see them give us something to cheer about.

...next up for the Rangers, Wednesday night against the Sabres who whitewashed the Islanders today 7-1. Had to throw that in there.

I was at the game...and I don't want to hear any more about "Shanahan is too slow for this team..." Naslund looked flatfooted and behind the play most of the night.

Oh, yeah, and how about the awful Rangers 5-3 where they kept passing back and forth and back and forth. I hope they get a whipping watching the tapes. Hey, as Rangers fans we gotta bitch, too.

Oh my god let this Shanahan thing go already...he's not a good fit for this team! We don't need his ass. I really think that Dubinsky was talking about Shanahan the other day when talking about intimidating vets.

And secondly, the Rangers are 5-0 to start the season, and you are still bitching, Mr. Anonymous? Seriously, how do you call yourself a "fan"? Can't you ever just enjoy a win?

I think the 4th line has looked great this year. Especially since Sjostrom rejoined them. Colton Orr has improved so much and Betts has been his usually solid self, killing penalties and winning face-offs.

Have to agree with you there Brian. No time to criticize your team when they're 5-0.

Plenty of time to do it. Thousands of other fans were that I sat next to at the game—that's the way it is in NYC. We're all psyched about the 5-0, seriously!

Great game. Good whiff by Marty to get the Rangers started. Looking forward to Wednesday already. Hope the 1st line gets it going with Drury playing against his old mates.

Was at the game last night, Wasnt sure if we were playing 4 lines, until I saw the 1st line kill our 5 v 3 PP, that was the only time I noticed them on the ice....

I think there is always room for a guy like Shanny....But right now is not that time...I have been the biggest supporter of signing him, and I think just like Forsberg did, he will join the Rangers late this season.....Sooner if drury, gomez, naslund, zherdev get injured.

I am also happy to report the Dolans gave out Magnetic Schedules at last nights game.....at the cost of shutting down the escaltors to the 400 section.

Great start to the season 5-0
