Devils 1, Rangers 0, SO

The New York Rangers (22-17-7) lost to the New Jersey Devils (32-11-1) by the score of 1-0 in a shootout, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.

...am I allowed to say a loss was the most entertaining game of the season? Back and forth all night long and you can't get better goaltending. If the Rangers can play the way they did tonight for the rest of the season they're going to win a lot of games.

...shootout practice starts at 9 a.m. tomorrow. God the Rangers are atrocious in the skills competition right now (one for their last nine).

...with the way Marty was playing tonight the Rangers can thank Lundqvist for matching him save for save and at least getting the team a point.

...best game in two years for Rozsival. Maybe Sather can trade him now.

...speaking of best game, Brashear actually looked like he belonged in the NHL tonight.

...the Rangers power play is really struggling right now (two for their last 20).

...off tomorrow then Ottawa in town on Thursday.

Most entertaining game of the year...almost. And a "new NHL" 0-0 tie + skills competition.

Basically, it was a pitcher's duel.

Very exciting game to be at - only the end was a downer. I've been saying for several weeks that Rozy is playing better but most fans look for excuses to get on him. The goaltending was great at both ends but the Rangers got very little traffic in front of the net and Marty saw every shot. He is too good to beat that way. Hank had a look at the Devil shots and he stopped them all as well. Thats what happens when 2 of the best goalies in the world face each other at the top of their games.
