Rangers 3, Devils 1

The New York Rangers (26-26-7) defeated the New Jersey Devils (36-19-2) by the score of 3-1, tonight. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.

...a much needed two points, but the Rangers are going to have to string a few more of these together before I get excited.

...so much for Lundqvist's glove hand being his weakness. Something about seeing Brodeur really makes Lundqvist turn it up a notch. "The King" gives the Rangers a big advantage over every team fighting for the final three playoff spots.

...Callahan being Callahan tonight with 1g, 1a and 5 SOG. Not to mention the energy he brought.

...if you're a Devils fan you have to be concerned about Kovalchuk's lack of discipline. Down two with two minutes to go and he takes himself out of the game by fighting Avery? He's got to be smarter than that.

...big props to Prust for taking on the much bigger Peters. I also liked that he challenged the Devils enforcer early in the first when the Devils were buzzing in an attempt to change momentum.

...the Rangers are getting absolutely zero offense from their third line. Can't change up the top two lines, so maybe moving Drury up and Lisin down would do the trick.

...i know the Devils aren't the Caps, but nice to see the Rangers clean-up the penalty kill.

...i was counting on 35 games from Gaborik this season not goals. This guy is sick and just 56 games into his Rangers career could be the best pure goal scorer in Blueshirts history. Yeah I said it.

...amazing stat of the night: Gaborik's power play goal was his first in 24 games!!!

...while not on the score sheet, I thought Dubinsky had a solid game. Real tough on the puck.

...off the day three days then the Predators invade MSG on Wednesday.

While I like Prust..he is not the answer for enforcer...I stand by my statement that this team still needs a heavyweight....Prust is to small, and while admirable that he will fight anyone, it would be nice to see him land a punch.... (Please see the Orr vs Matt Carkner fight last night) Orr puts Carkner in LaLA land with one right...

I would like to see Drury on the 3rd line, and then let these 4 line stay together for a few weeks before and after the break....lets see if we can build up some chemistry...
