1. Wade Redden, Rangers: Redden's career in Ottawa was heading south when the Senators made a token offer to keep him as a free agent in the summer of 2008. Instead, the Rangers stepped in and offered him twice as much along with a six-year deal, and they've regretted it ever since. Redden has been the poster boy for big-contract busts with declining numbers and increasing time on the bench and sometimes even in the press box. But there's not much New York can do because Redden has four more years, $23 million and a $6.5 million annual cap hit left.
...the Rangers should be fitting Redden for a Wolf Pack jersey asap.
Scott Gomez' contract, also a Sather beauty, is #2.

I hope Sather gets wind of this in-between breaths of his stinky, wet-tipped cigar.
Where is Drury at $35+ over 5 seasons? 2nd/3rd line center with declining production. Also surprised Nylander wasn't on that list with his comparable contract. had the rangers resigned him for 4 more years back in 2006 to play with Jagr, he and the Rangers would probably be a little better off.
On a different note, I don't understand why hockey pundits and Blackhawks fans are so outraged by the Campbell contract. The guy puts up 50 pts/season even though he has some defensive downside. He has no place in any conversation with Redden.
Strangely enough, Redden is at E for the year, while our boys Girardi and Del Zotto are at -9 and -17. Not that I'm saying redden is doing great or deserves his ludicrous contract, but just that he's settled down a tad.
hes settled down because he plays the least minutes out of all the dmen, doesnt touch the powerplay, and only gets on the pk because torts has no other options, he doesnt play any important minutes anymore
