Rangers 5, Lightning 2

The New York Rangers (28-27-7) defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning (26-24-11) by the score of 5-2, today. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports and newyorkrangers.com.

...why wouldn't the Rangers get on a roll right before the Olympics? Unreal.

...despite the Blueshirts going down 2-0 after the first I didn't think they played that bad of a period, so it didn't surprise me that they were able came back.

...and that comeback could not have been possible without the three remarkable saves by Lundqvist in the second period. Sweden has to be thinking gold with Lundqvist's play of late.

...with the way the Rangers have played the last two games maybe they should think about trading Gaborik at the deadline for a puck moving defenseman. I kid, I kid.

...watching Christensen you have to wonder what went wrong in Atlanta and Anaheim. The guy is a true playmaker who can shoot the puck. Great pickup by Sather.

...i'm still not happy with the toned down Avery, but it was nice to see him get one to spark the team today.

...+6 with two assists for the defensemen as Redden and Rozsival continue their improved play.

...three goals, one assist and a +3 for Prospal in the three games since Gaborik went down. Talk about stepping up.

...some good vibes going into the break that they'll hopefully be able to keep going when they return on March 2nd in Ottawa.

Regarding Christensen, I think in the past he had physical problems that affected his game, and had surgery last year that was effective in solving them. I think he and Prospal are two of the biggest bargains in the NHL.
