Rangers Recall Potter

Larry Brooks, via Twitter, reports that according to AHL.com the Rangers have recalled Corey Potter from Hartford as a precaution against injury vs. Nashville tomorrow.

Brooks adds that he is being told this move is not a first step in a deal for Sheldon Souray.

...it is a bit suspicious that the Rangers are randomly deciding they're all-of-the-sudden afraid of a defensive injury after going the entire season with six defensemen.

...if it is a first step towards getting the injured Souray, I'm going to be pissed.

Its actually a step towards potential deal with Florida Panthers involving Girardi and I've also heard Dubi for FLA's Horton among the names

dont know the point of trading dubi AND Girardi for a guy who puts up about the same points dubi will once hes filled out...

i guess its more of a sure bet that horton will score 25 plus a year then dubi, and with girardis contract done after this year i dont see him being back

It would be a shame to lose Girardi. He is a bargain at 1.5 mil/year and besides, who would replace him? Potter? Sanguinetti? Potter? I'm only on board for Sourey if we can dump Redden. BTW, Girardi is also an RFA, so he may still be a bargain this summer.
