Bruce Garrioch at the Ottawa Sun reports that "NHL executives are convinced the New York Rangers are up to something and the name of C Brandon Dubinsky has been whispered around the trade market."
...if the Rangers are "up to something" it makes sense that Dubinsky's name is involved. He's one of the few valuable assets the Rangers have. Young with a lot of potential and a low price tag. Wait, why would the Rangers be dangling him?
That would be the worst move the Rangers could make at this point. It looks like the team is going nowhere but Dubi is somebody who could help when something is actually happening. I cannot imagine why in the world the Rangers would even consider trading him.
Yet another reason why Sather has to go. Let me guess, he wants to trade an exceptional young talent for 2 aging almost retired players who used to be big scorers. If this happens I think all the fans need to stand outside MSG and egg the hell out of Sather when he comes and goes.
I'm not on the Dubi bandwagon. He's a good young player, but he's not a star in the making. He just doesn't have the hands to be an NHL star. My guess is he's reached his potential: a decent banger with 15 goal potential. If they send him as part of a package for a decent young player with more upside, I'm down (like Nathan Horton).
I agree with James. You other guys are delusional about this topic. Original author claims Dubi has a lot of potential. Why cant people see that he is as good as he ever will be on the Rangers. He will never be a Backstrom, Thornton, or any elite center in the league. Dubi just doesnt have the hands and skills to be an elite forward. If they can trade Dubi and Redden for an elite center to play with Gaborik I am all for it. They need a playmaker though not a scorer. But Sather btter not trade for an over the hill center that we cant even resign next year.
I think the truth falls between the two opinions here... he's only 23, I have a hard time believing he has reached his peak. However, he certainly is NOT a Backstrom or Thornton type. I think he is the type of player teams need to have, a great 2nd line player. I love Duby - even more after his Crosby comment - but in the right deal, I could handle it... in the wrong one, I'll lose my mind.
Hmmm well i do like him alot, but i can see why. Hes young and things are just not working out as it seems, its not that we want to get rid of him but if we want to improve our team we need 2 make some moves.
Ill agree with this as long as were not making a deal for a one year player.

i think there trying to shop redden or rosi around but everyone wants dubi to be included in that trade.

Just take into account the source of this rumor. Bruce Garrioch has no credibility whatsoever.
