Rangers Need to Shape Up

Andrew Gross at The Bergen Record reports on what the Ranger players should expect going into their first camp with John Tortorella as head coach...

"Training camp, which opens Sept. 12, will be hell, Tortorella has promised. At least two letters have been sent to the Rangers players warning them to report in the best possible shape.

And tip-top shape is necessary to play Tortorella’s up-tempo brand of hockey."

...the Rangers might not be the most talented team in the league this year, but they will be the most in-shape and hard working team, which sometimes is better.

They were in '94. I remember stories of the players being on exercise bikes immediately after games. It was a huge part of that years' success
