You the Shan!!!

Last night the New York Rangers (24-21-6) defeated the Atlanta Thrashers (23-26-3) by a score of 2-1 in a shootout. Henrik Lundqvist was perfect in the shootout and Brendan Shanahan scored the only goal in the tiebreaker for the Rangers. With the win, the Rangers completed a two-game home sweep of the Thrashers. New York was 0-for-5 on the power play, stretching its man-advantage slump to two goals in 38 chances. For a full recap go to Yahoo! Sports.

...while it wasn't the prettiest win, I have to give the Rangers credit for gutting it out under tough circumstances. You can only expect a lethargic beginning after sitting and watching the Leetch ceremony for an hour, plus you knew Atlanta was going to come out playing hard after they were embarrassed on Tuesday.

...another solid game from Dubinski and Dawes. These two have really elevated their game the last two weeks.

...all I have to say about our power play is 2 for their last 38. I didn't think that was possible.

...lots of help in the standings last night as the Devils, Penguins and Islanders all lost.

...nice two game winning streak heading into the All-Star break. Hopefully this gives the team some confidence going into a tough four game road trip to Carolina, Philadelphia, New Jersey and Montreal coming out of the All-Star break.
