The New York Rangers (20-17-4) lost last night to the Vancouver Canucks (23-14-4) by a score of 3-0. Even though the Rangers outshot Vancouver 28-19, the Canucks extended their home points streak to 13 games with the victory, having allowed just 11 goals at home since Nov. 9. Both Scott Gomez and Jaromir Jagr's point scoring streaks came to an end. Brendan Shanahan missed his first game of the season with a stiff neck. Petr Prucha returned to the Ranger lineup after missing two games with a bruised wrist. For a full recap go to Yahoo! Sports.
...not that I thought we tested him all that much, but I'm glad we only have to see Luongo once this year.
...while Valiquette let up a soft goal to make it 1-0 this game was hardly his fault. When you don't score, including going 0-4 on the power play, you can't win.
...not sure how long we can go without getting any type of production from the 3rd and 4th lines. So far this season, Ryan Callahan, Petr Prucha, Marcel Hossa, Ryan Hollweg, Colton Orr and Blair Betts have combined for 9 goals and 14 assists and a -19. While I think the 4th line should stay entact as they're not out there to score (although their combined -25 is alarming), we need to make some major changes on the third line. Calling Nigel Dawes.
...Lundqvist better be ready to go tomorrow night or this trip will be a disaster.

While it would be nice to get scoring from the 4th line. That is not their role on this team. The Top 3 lines have more than enough talent to carry the offense on this team, and they are just not doing it. The 3rd line contributes no scoring, but bring energy and draw the occasional penalty. Thats all nice but not enough.
With all that said, send down callahan and bring up Dawes. That line cannot produce any less by making that move.
