Ranger Scouts Attend Avalanche/Preds Game

Over at the Denver Post, Adrian Dater is reporting that Ranger scouts were spotted at Tuesday night's Colorado Avalanche/Nashville Predators game...

"Neither the Avalanche nor the Nashville Predators play the New York Rangers or Toronto Maple Leafs the rest of this season. So, why were scouts from the two latter teams at the Pepsi Center on Tuesday night?

Gentlemen, start the engine to the rumor mill. The NHL trade deadline is a little more than a month away (Feb. 26), and the Rangers and Leafs are both struggling to get into the playoff pack in the Eastern Conference.

Rangers coach Tom Renney ripped into his team after Sunday's second straight loss to Boston, and the Maple Leafs fired general manager John Ferguson Jr. on Tuesday."

...earlier this year I posted a trade rumor (see here) between the Rangers and Avalanche which included Al Montoya, Petr Prucha, Marek Malik and a prospect to Colorado for defenseman John-Michael Liles and Marek Svatos. Maybe this is back on the table.

...like I said in an earlier post, I would give this team a few weeks to respond to Renney's threats, before pulling the trigger on a trade.
