Rangers Could Be Interested in Orpik

Bucky Gleason at The Buffalo News reports that if hard-hitting defenseman Brooks Orpik is not in the Pittsburgh Penguins plans for the future, the Rangers might be a team interested...

"The Penguins need to decide whether hard-hitting defenseman Brooks Orpik will remain in their long-term plans. The East Amherst native is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent after the season...Orpik could draw interest from the Rangers, who have four defensemen ready to hit the open market after this season."

...I can't image that a trade between these two teams would happen this year, but if Pittsburgh decides not to sign Orpik this offseason, he should definitely be someone the Rangers pursue.

...his toughness on the blueline is something this team sorely needs.
