With Wade Redden still suffering from a lower body injury, the Rangers have called up defenseman Corey Potter from Hartford reports Sam Weinman at The Rangers Report.
Potter, who is expected to play in tomorrow's game against Calgary, skated along side Dmitri Kalinin at practice today with Paul Mara being paired with Dan Girardi.
Renney had this to say to Steve Zipay at Blue Notes on the team's decision to call up Potter instead of Brian Fahey...
"Corey's had a real good season so far, real steady. We wanted a guy that could manage both sides of the puck. Fahey's been good at that as of late, but Corey seems to be the type of guy that can play a firm, decisive game in his own end."
Renney also said the Rangers are a little more familiar with his game at this point than with Fahey's.
Zipay also reports that Blair Betts practiced today.
...good luck kid we'll be rooting for ya.
