Rangers 3, Hurricanes 2, SO

The New York Rangers (20-11-2) defeated the Carolina Hurricanes (13-12-5) by the score of 3-2 in a shootout, tonight. For a full recap and box score go to newyorkrangers.com.

...the best way to get the bad taste out of your mouth from a dreadful performance is to go out and win the next night. It wasn't pretty, but I think we've all come to expect that from the Rangers this year.

...great bounce back game for Lundqvist. He needed a performance like that badly.

...sweet move by Drury in the shootout. 'Captain Clutch' where have you been?

...is it fair to ask if Blair Betts is the team MVP right now? I mean other than Lundqvist of course.

...i didn't think it was possible, but we may have found a worse power play than the Rangers. Man the Hurricanes are bad. I haven't seen that much standing around on the power play since, well, the Rangers tonight.

...loved the Rangers in the 'road' white uniforms tonight at MSG. The way it should be.

...no regulation wins for the Rangers in nine straight games (5-4-0). The fact that they have five wins in that span has to be some type of record.

...despite everything going on with this team, tonight's victory gave the Rangers 20 wins in their first 33 games. I'm pretty sure every Ranger fan would have signed up for that at the beginning of the year.

...wonder how Sundin perceived the game tonight. He could have either thought man I could really help this team or this is the least dangerous offense in the league why would I want to come here.

...couple of days off then out to the west coast for three games starting with the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday.

i think sundin thinks he can help this team, a naslund/sundin/zherdev line could be excellent...

Tough road trip against 2 of the best in the west and a Kings team that doesnt give up many goals...I think 3 pts on this road trip would be nice...

Andrew - just thinking of line combinations with Sundin on our team gets me excited. Honestly, I think Dubinsky should be the one to move over, as his faceoff numbers aren't too good, and he is still a young kid, whereas Drury has been playing centre his entire career.

Assuming Prucha is moved and Korpikoski sent to Hartford, Imagine:

Callahan - Sundin - Zherdev
Voros - Gomez - Dubinsky
Naslund - Drury - Sjostrom/Dawes
