According to Sam Weinman at The Rangers Report, Cory Potter has been sent back down to the Hartford Wolfpack after playing just one game in place of the injured Wade Redden.
This obviously means Dmitri Kalinin's spot is safe for now. Tom Renney had this to say about a possible Kalinin benching...
“Not yet,” Tom Renney said. “It’s something to consider down the road, but that’s the same for any of our defenseman quite honestly. We’re not singling out any of our defenseman at all. We believe that Corey can play play at this level and that’s a good place to be quite honest with Hartford being so close. So it’s something to consider down the road.”
Potter will most likely not be making the trip West when the Rangers play three games in five nights next week in California.
...not sure the logic here. We have a spot on the roster for Potter and a tough road trip coming up, why would we send him down? Especially when you have someone struggling as mightily as Kalinin. Doesn't make much sense.

yeah kalinin needs to go badly...potter played well and deserved a second chance...especially with the fact were looking to move a dman and get sundin and/or another foward
