ESPN.com is reporting that Russian investigators are saying that Rangers prospect Alexei Cherepanov was blood doping for several months before he died during a Russian league game in October..."Russia's federal Investigative Committee said experts concluded from analysis of blood and urine samples that for several months Cherepanov "engaged in blood doping." There was no elaboration in the statement, and a spokeswoman at the committee refused further comment."
Per Wikipedia, blood doping is the practice of boosting the number of red blood cells (RBCs) in the circulation in order to enhance athletic performance.
