Hollweg an Avery Wannabe?

According to Greg Logan, Islander beat writer at Newsday, Ryan Hollweg is a Sean Avery wannabe...

"...Without injured Sean Avery in the building to get under the Islanders' skin, Rangers enforcer Colton Orr and Avery wannabe Ryan Hollweg did their best to stir things up. Orr bested Islanders heavyweight Chris Simon in a second-period bout, and during a first-period scrum in front of the benches, Hollweg apparently threatened to go after the 15-stitch cut on the left cheek that Islanders defender Radek Martinek suffered the previous night against Ottawa.

'He came and said he would take my stitches out,' Martinek said. 'It was stupid.' He said Hollweg managed to get a glove on the wounded area but did no damage.

Asked if he'd experienced anything like that with another player, Martinek said, 'Never, never. He could show a little respect, but he didn't. I cannot respect him.'..."

...Avery wannabe? Is this guy Logan kidding me? Because Hollweg says a few things to Martinek all of a sudden he's an Avery wannabe. Hey, Logan does that make Chris Simon a Marty McSorley wannabe? Stupid Islander homer.

...I said this in an earlier post when Avery was getting dumped on. When did hockey players become so sensitive? Oh no, Hollweg said he's going to take my stitches out. Didn't Matinek see the movie Youngblood? "You don't want stitches in Thunder Bay" or Madison Square Garden.

The entire Islander organization including their beat writers are a bunch of cry babies.

Love the " Youngblood " reference. After Simon embarssed the Islander organization last season. with the stick to the face of Holweg. ( which is not an easy thing to do since they are a joke) logan, Martinek and even Ted Nolan all need to shut up and play hockey.

I met Teddy Nolan and he's a great guy, but please shut up. No wonder this guy was out of the league for so long, he cries all the time. And you would never hear Renney make excuses for he's team about how many games they've played in the last week.

I dont know it seems Hollweg aka Wannabe did his job and got them off the game.

As for RESPECT maybe Logan and the other Fishsticks shold ask "Hatchet Man" Simon about having RESPECT for another player.

first of all, trash talk has and always will be in the game, sean avery did not invent it, he just perfected it. what is said on the ice shouldnt be brought to the media after the game. its ridiculous. ive played hockey for around 15 years now and ever since i was a kid trash talking was a part of the game. if martinek was so concerned about his stitches he wouldnt have been involved in the scrum in the first place. furthermore i always love when ted nolan talks about class, because the two handed baseball swing that simon launched at hollweg last season was such a classy move. and sleeping with dominick hasek's wife was a real classy move as well wasnt it nolan?

Ha, I think that's a funny line by Hollweg. In all seriousness, it will get under your skin, but isn't offensive in nature, so no one can get up in arms over it. Very clever.
