Andrew Gross at Ranger Rants reports that the Rangers conducted a special teams meeting before the optional skate this morning in preparation of tonight's game against Montreal.
Gross spoke with Chris Drury about the lack of power play practice in which Drury cautioned that practicing the power play is not always the safest thing for a team to do...
"You don't want to be taking one-timer shots on guys in practice," said Drury, adding it's more productive (and safer) to prepare in a classroom setting with video scouting and the like so the players can "know what the other team is doing."
...not sure if Drury actually believes that, but I'll take his word for it. Either way it's nice to see the Rangers at least addressing the power play today.
Gross also adds that the lines will remain the same tonight.
