Rangers CHL Prospects Update

Leslie Treff at Hockey's Future looks at the Rangers seven prospects who are currently members of CHL teams including 2008 first round pick Michael Del Zotto as well as Evgeny Grachev and Tomas Kundratek.

Gordie Clark, the Rangers’ Director of Player Personnel, said of Del Zotto, "a big difference in Del Zotto this season is his conditioning. Since Adam Graves and Peter DeBoer have been up in Oshawa, the whole team’s conditioning regimen has changed, and now Michael is a finely-tuned athlete."

Smart move by the organization in moving Grachev to LW. With Gomez, Drury, Dubinsky, Anisimov and Betts already there, Grachev really would have to outplay one of those guys to eventually make it to the NYR. This way he can learn the wing in juniors and Hartford, rather than learning the wing if he made it to the NHL.

Two problems with that article:

1- Grachev was moved to LW by the Battalion not the Rangers as Stan Butler has a glut of very talented centers.

2- Del Zotto was getting into shape way before the Rangers had drafted him and the changes in the General's ownership.

Ranger do not deserve credit for these items, Brampton and Del Zotto do.
