Today's Ranger Playoff Headlines

Here's what's in today's papers...

In Newsday, Steve Zipay says Tom Reenney is going to take a laid back approach in the playoffs..."Before the first round against the Devils two years ago, the coaching staff was guilty of providing too much information to players, Renney said. In the first round against Atlanta last season, the coaches cut way back and let the players use their instincts, and the Rangers ousted the Thrashers in five games (um...Steve it was a four game sweep. Geez aren't you the beat writer)."

John Dellapina in The Daily News wonders if this is Jaromir Jagr's last run..."Will this postseason be the last we see of No. 68 on NHL ice? Will it be the last we see of him in a Rangers sweater? And does the prospect make these playoffs more precious to him?"

At The New York Post, Larry Brooks says Sean Avery needs to be a force against the Devils..."...they will need Avery at his best. They will need his jam, they will need his mouth, and they will need him to get into the crease and under the skin of Brodeur..."

Lynn Zinser at The New York Times says that Scott Gomez' experience with the Devils will help the Rangers..."Gomez has grown into a veteran’s role this season. He continually refers to himself as “one of the older guys” despite being only 28. But that stems from his vast playoff experience with the Devils, which includes championships in 2000 and 2003. The Devils also reached the Stanley Cup finals in 2001."

...man I wish this series was starting tonight. Not sure I can wait till tomorrow. Hopefully the Mets home opener will help me get through today.
