"Tom Renney is everything that Isiah Thomas is not, and that now includes: employed as a coach of one of Jim Dolan's teams...
...Since Renney became coach of the Rangers, the Knicks have gone through bazillions of dollars of payroll, and through coaches Lenny Wilkens, "interim" Herb Williams, Larry Brown and Thomas, the team president who hired all those guys.
And Renney? All he has done was make the playoffs in his first full season, 2005-06, after the Rangers had missed every year since 1997."
...man is this article is stating the obvious.
...I've been very critical of Renney at times during the regular season. But his coaching was on point in the first round. While Sutter got caught up in the officiating and Brodeur diving, Renney kept his calm demeanor throughout. Which to me, was the difference in the series.
