Home Ice Still A Possibility

Josh Thomson at The Journal News reports...

"Despite all but clinching their third straight postseason berth Monday night, the Rangers now proceed with a higher hope: To open the playoffs on Garden ice...

...Barring a collapse against the Islanders, home ice is well within the Rangers' reach and might not be determined until Sunday.

The Rangers' home mark of 25-13-2 is second best in the East to the Canadiens. They also won four of five at home in the 2007 playoffs.

With those numbers, Renney believes the home-ice advantage of a potential opening-round series is more important than the opponent."

...just to add to my admission of being a complete mush for the Rangers. I was at the only Ranger home loss in the playoffs last year.

...I have to agree with Renney that in the playoffs home ice, especially when you play at The Garden, is more important than the opponent. Check out these videos to see why...
