Rangers Briefly Kicked Tires on Frolov

From Pierre LeBrun's Twitter account...

Other than the Rangers kicking the tires briefly, there hasn't been a lot of action on UFA winger Alexander Frolov....less than a minute ago via web

...Sather most likely scared away by $5 million per price tag. Not sure he's going to get it. I'd take him for $3.5 million.

Frolov is one of the more intriguing FA's and would immediately make this team more dynamic. I just don't think we're coming close to meeting his asking price...

Price is definitely too steep for Rangers.

I'm not so concerned about the money as I am about a no-movement clause. If he comes here and is a dependable 65-70 point guy, $4-5mil is fair. If he bombs in NYC like so many do, he's got to be trade-able.

Frolov has Z like qualities, only worse. No thanks to a player who coasts and cannot handle both ends of the ice. I would take Z back before Frolov anyday.
