Brown Bag it to MSG

ESPN did a vendor inspection report for every stadium of the four major sports and had this to say about MSG...

Madison Square Garden
New York Knicks, New York Rangers
Vendors with critical violations: 61%
Inspection report excerpt: At one stand, inspectors found "53 mouse excreta" (38 on top of a metal box underneath the cash registers in the front food-prep/service area and 15 on top of a carbonated-beverage dispensing unit).

For more on this click here.

...i always knew the Dolans didn't give a you know what about the fans but I never thought it was this bad. I may never go back to MSG again.

...and for all the crap we give Islander fans about the Coliseum they had exactly zero violations.

...h/t to Puck Daddy.

I wonder how the "new" MSG will be. Oh wait i wont be able to go to a game because the tickets would be minimum $50!!

$50 for a ticket? More like $50 for a beer.

Give SNYRB credit where it's due, please.

Expensive Shitty food.... I always have a better time when I brown bag it at MSG anyways. This just seals the deal.

Annoying, and even then I still think I'd drink it.

Anonymous, did you mean the SNY Ranger Blog? Why would I give them credit? They weren't involved with the investigation.

Besides I don't remember them giving me credit for coming up with their blog idea in 2008 when I started mine back in 2007.

I think this is more of a function of MSG being in NYC than anything else. You'd be lucky to find a restaurant without any evidence of pests. As someone who's worked in several nice places, I'll venture this is not limited to fast food stands either. As long as the food is kept safe, all is well.

The investigation was done by ESPN, if you dig through the blogosphere echo-chamber you'll find this link:

Tipping Puck Daddy is nice backscratching though.

I always give credit to source or where I find it. Including readers who e-mail me links or post them on Twitter.

Not sure where that criticism came from.

the food at MSG has got to be some of the worst in the league, I've been to plenty of other arenas & had such great food. whether it was soft shell crab sandwiches in Carolina or Tacos in Staples Center, the wings in Buffalo or crepes in Montreal. I've never even given this any thought until I saw it up here today & now that I think about it's truly disgraceful that in the greatest city in the world in the most famous sports building there is other than Yankee Stadium where we pay the highest prices in the league my tix cost me a little more than 9k for this coming season, you cant get a decent food vendor, the hot dogs suck the sausage & peppers I would not feed to my dog, yea sure if you want to pay 150 bucks a night you can get a good meal there but other than that the pickens are slim. Oh & I fdorgot the chili in Chicago has got to be the best I've eaten or close to it. It really is a shame from crappy food to flat stale beer the Garden needs an overhaul to say the least. thks for posting this its really food for thought pun intended!!!!

kevin - you are doing a great job as is the other guy at the place anonymous mentioned. both of you stepped up big time to replace the pay site blue shirt bulletin which has much less content and links than they used to.

and both of you show just the right amt of links and all. any more would probably be overkill and we do need to sleep sometimes
