Prust Co-Chair of Canadian Special Olympics Summer Games

Geoff Turner of the London Free Press reports that Brandon Prust, Corey Perry (Ducks) and Danny Syvret (Flyers) will take the stage tonight at TD Waterhouse Stadium for the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games along with Hockey Night in Canada’s Don Cherry.

Prust, Perry and Syvret have been supporters of Special Olympics London for a while now, said Brenda Trineer, the games’ volunteer co-ordinator.

“We recruited them two years ago when we asked them to be honorary co-chairs of London Special Olympics and they couldn’t say ‘yes’ fast enough. They said, ‘What do you need?’ ”

...always great to have that type of character on the team. Bravo.

Brandon Prust is a great guy to have on our team. I love this type of player and this type of attitude. So glad we resigned him.

I was pleasantly surprised by his play when he got signed. He sure made the most out of being on the fourth line..checks, plays hard, fights, and then scores some goals? I'm glad we re-signed him too =)

He was a must re-sign for the Rangers. How often can you say that about a fourth liner who was a trade throw-in?

A lot of people are down on Christensen and Prospal but I think they're such great players and they both contributed a lot to the Rangers last season. They were both a "must re-sign" for the Rangers too, at least in my opinion. For the contract length, and the price, I feel like it should be a no brainer to have had these two back. Why is everyone so down on them when they are great point producers?

prust has the perfect personality and work ethic all the rangers should have.

Seels, I think most readers on this blog are actually supportive of both Christensen and Prospal. Although I have my issues with Prospal (age, health).

Doesn't he remind ya of Adam Graves...just a bit??

Prust is the man! So glad the Rangers brought him back.

Damn! Andy beat me to saying it. I was gonna mention he's starting to look a lot like Gravesy. Lets hope the points fall into place this season. Either way, he's a hard working player who adds a lot of character and energy to our roster. Couldn't be happier to see him in our colors.

Way to go Brandon! Bring your generosity to the city during the season too!

i hope these guys set a precedent for future ranger players. obviously the one set by graves in the past has certainly rubbed off. also helps that graves is part of the team.

He doesn't have the same skill level as Graves, but he has his heart, fearlessness and camaraderie... Happy to have him here...
