Steve Zipay at Blue Notes reports that the Dallas Stars have confirmed that Avery was placed on 24-hour recall waivers at noon.
Zipay adds that even if the Rangers claim him and acquire him at noon tomorrow, he will not be able to participate in practice, which is scheduled for 11 a.m.
Finally, Zipay also reports that Erik Reitz's foot is fractured, an injury sustained in Florida, but continued playing. He will probably be IR'd.
...looks like we're back to six defensemen. I'm assuming the Rangers won't be re-calling a defenseman till after the deadline or make a move for one on Wednesday.
