Energy Savers

Steve Zipay at Blues Notes reports...

"In an unusual move, the Rangers aren't holding a game-day morning skate at the Coliseum today.

Can't recall that happening on Long Island since the lockout, unless it's been the second game on consecutive days.

It was decided yesterday, so there's no emergency behind it.

Devils coach Brent Sutter has stopped pre-game skates for several months, I believe, and they're doing OK, right? Herb Brooks didn't like em either."

...strange time to change up the routine with a playoff spot on the line, but I guess with the injury bug hitting the Rangers lately Renney decided to give the players the morning off.
