At The Blue Seats, Brett Cyrgalis feels that Sean Avery's antics are bad for hockey, Lundqvist's butterfly style can lead to continued success for the Rangers and Renney's calm demeanor will serve the Rangers well in the playoffs.
...this guy Cyrgalis has no idea what he's talking about when it comes to Avery. Avery is exactly what the NHL needs to be successful. Does Cyrgalis want the NHL to continue with its no name stars that do nothing to promote the game while getting ratings lower than women's golf? Cyrgalis is probably with the crowd that criticizes Ovechkin for his animated celebrations. Meanwhile the Capitals haven't seen crowds this frenzied in franchise history (See this story in the Washington Examiner).
...Cyrgalis even has the audacity to say Avery is not busting his butt for the team but for himself. While I agree that Avery loves the attention he's getting in New York, I can't believe that his motives for playing hard are selfish.
...now when it comes to the NHL getting publicity through acts of violence (see Chris Simon) I'm 100% against it, but when someone comes along who can bring a spark to the NHL I'm all for it. Maybe Cyrgalis should get off his high horse and help promote the game, not bring it down.

I guess those 3 goals he's scored really hurt the team.
