Jagr Era Forgotten in New York?

With the Rangers off to their best start in team history (10-2-1), Wes Goldstein at CBS Sportsline says the Rangers quick start is one of the biggest surprises so far this season...

"The potential for trouble always exist when a team experiments with roster chemistry, but for the New York Rangers, the early results have been more than encouraging. The Jaromir Jagr era has been quickly forgotten with goaltender Henrik Lundqvist and newcomer Nikolai Zherdev stepping to the forefront..."

...while most of the so-called experts were predicting doom for the new look Rangers, myself along with many of the posters on this site were excited about the off-season moves and aren't at all surprised about this fast start. OK maybe I'm a little surprised at how hot of a start they've had. I mean 10-2-1!!!!

...and what's even more impressive is we've done this with almost nothing offensively from Drury (2 goals, 3 assists), Dawes (1 goal, 0 assists) and Redden (2 goals, 2 assists).

I don't think forgetting about the Jagr era means anyone is a Jagr hater. It means it was time to move on and look to the future. I've actually gotten flack on this blog for saying Jagr was one of the most important players in Rangers history. He turned this franchise from a joke to a respected power.
