Capitals 3, Rangers 1

The New York Rangers (11-5-1) lost to the Washington Capitals (7-4-2) by the score of 3-1 tonight. For a full recap and box score go to newyorkrangers.com.

...man Washington came out real physical tonight. For the first 40 minutes they pretty much pushed us around. It wasn't until the 3rd period that the Rangers finally started to hit back. This really concerns me. Where was Orr? And why didn't he do anything? I haven't been the biggest advocate for bringing Shanahan back but no way he lets that happen if he's on the team. You hear that Captain Drury.

...now to the refs. I believe in making your own breaks and to that point the Capitals did. They drove to the net and made things happen. But for Lundqvist to get run over twice in the crease and have nothing called is a travesty. And then for the winning goal to be scored after the post was taken off the moorings by a Capitals player was just awful. I usually reserve this time to kill Renney for not going crazy on the refs, but I've resigned to the fact that Renney will never do that. So why bother.

...and despite all that, we were a Drury penalty shot away from tying the score. Which was solely do to the heroics of Lundqvist, who was playing on another level tonight and deserved a better fate.

....back to the Drury penalty shot, is it me or has Drury not lived up to his 'clutch' label since becoming a Ranger. Just sayin'.

...i think it's officially time to send Dawes to the press box. He has exactly 0 goals, 1 assist and is a -1 in his last 9 games.

...speaking of not scoring, a power play goal from Redden (-1 tonight) would be nice.

...off tomorrow then the Oilers are in town on Monday.

Drury was pretending he was Messier on the penatly shot. Heres a thought stick to your forehand cause you never use your backhand.

Some bad breaks tonight. I only saw the Rangers in 60. Joe Michelletti was pretty annoying tonight, anyone else feel that way?

Damn physical game and you're right...where were the physical guys Callahan, Mara and Orr?

Dawes has been very quiet...again, Lundqvist was on fire.

Oh, and Ovetckin is a beast.

Hey Tom, let's get give Drury some wingers to play with. Dawes and Prucha should not be on the same line together. Neither one can score right now, both are small, and poor defensive players. This line combination makes no sense.

Oh wow good call...Drury needs a different pair other than Dawes and Prucha for sure.

We already know Dru needs better wingers. Who are you gonna get?

Dawes and Prucha are both a waste.. half the time you don't even know that dawes is on the ice, atleast prucha is somewhat visible when hes out there...We obviously don't have many other choices but I think that Gomez needs to be put with Dawes..i think switching drury and gomez (even though that puts naslund back with drury) would atleast help gomezout

I also hate the fact that nobody else is allowed to carry the puck across the line if Gomez is on the ice..it is so predictable..esp on the power play
