With injuries besetting the entire Devils roster coach Brent Sutter is going with seven defensemen and only 11 forwards tonight against the Rangers. Sutter said it had nothing to do with concerns for injured defenseman Bryce Salvador and gave this reason for the decision...
"We just felt that we want the seven guys to get minutes and it allows the Zach Parises, the Patrik Eliases, the Jamie Langenbrunners and the Brian Giontas to get a little more ice time too," Sutter said to Tom Gulitti at Fire & Ice. "It's not like Zach hasn't played a lot already. We just feel tonight we want to go that way with our roster. It's just a feel you have I guess."
...don't think this will be a cake walk for the Rangers tonight. Despite the Devils missing Brodeur, Holik and Rolston, Sutter will have these guys fired up and ready to play.
...the Rangers played down to a depleted Islanders team last week let's hope they've learn from their mistakes.
