Rangers to Play Home Games at Izod Center?

Steve Zipay in his Ranger Insider says...

"Where would the Rangers play some games if required during the renovation of Madison Square Garden? The Izod Center at the Meadowlands? Possibly. There's ice available at the moment, although it would require a deal with the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority. That would certainly inconvenience many season-ticket holders, who would have to drive during rush hour or take a bus from Port Authority. When the finishing touches on the Prudential Center were being completed in October, the Devils spent an extended period on the road. Same thing could happen here, too."

...as a season ticket holder from Long Island I would dread this scenario.

Zipay also adds this about the Rangers and a third jersey next year...

"The Rangers are among the 10 or so teams who apparently will not unveil a "third" jersey next season. According to several folks familiar with the process, several will have a vintage look (possibly with laces at the collar) and five or six will be black."

...I think I'm in the minority when I say that I liked the Statue of Liberty jersey, but I'm not crying that the Rangers aren't bringing it back.

The Izod Center is a soulless life sucking hole that still has the stank of Devil 'fan' in it. The mere thought of the Rangers calling it home for even a game is horrible.
