It's Official Rangers/Islanders Split Hummer Metro Ice Challenge $

According to Islanders VP of Media Relations Chris Botta on his blog NYI Point Blank...

"We now have the check, so they can't ever take it away from us. Hummergate is over.

Just a few minutes ago, three very kind men from GMC/Hummer brought a check for $25,000 to the Coliseum, where it was heartily accepted by Chris Dey, Garth Snow and Chris Campoli on behalf of the New York Islanders Children's Foundation."

...at least the Islanders came away with something this year.

...I'm assuming the other $25,000 went the Rangers' charity. Although, Botta notes that the check says "Islanders winning the Hummer Metro Ice Challenge." So I'm not sure what to think.

...it's nice to know this whole situation has been put to rest. Frankly, I'm sick of writing about it.

OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL (***Updated***)

"MSG Media and HUMMER announced today that the Islanders and Rangers are the co-winners of the inaugural HUMMER Metro Ice Challenge."

...thank goodness.
