Lots of articles on the new Sean Avery rule...

Steve Zipay at Newsday says that the NHL may have overreacted with the new rule..."Yesterday afternoon, the NHL reacted - some say overreacted - to the incident, issuing a rare rule-change advisory that similar faceguarding will trigger a two-minute penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct. No penalty was called on Avery; he made no contact, so there was no interference infraction."

At the New York Post, Dan Martin reports that Martin Brodeur is not distracted by Avery's antics..."He didn't do anything illegal," Brodeur said yesterday regarding Avery's attempt at distracting the goalie by standing directly in front of him and waving his stick in his face "totally disregarding the play."

Kevin Greenstein at the New York Sun says the Avery-Brodeur feud is firing up the series..."Heading into this series, one of the most compelling storylines looked to be the simmering feud between Devils All-World netminder Martin Brodeur and Rangers agitator Sean Avery. The sparks have certainly flown between the bitter rivals.

John Dellapina at The Daily News says the Rangers need to clean-up their acts..."they'd better have some aspects of their game ironed out...Such as cutting their time spent playing shorthanded in half. And getting accustomed to the fact that a Devil beaten with one move will keep pursuing until the puck is advanced or lost. And that Henrik Lundqvist's brilliance in the rivalry, while still a psychological hurdle for the Devils, doesn't give the Rangers license to take low-percentage risks that result in waves of New Jersey odd-man counterattacks."

At the New York Post, Jay Greenberg sticks up for Marc Staal..."The first Ranger fan who, off one tough night, wants Staal out of there for Game 4 tomorrow should be escorted from the Garden."
