Steve Zipay at Newsday writes..."Not only was it Staal's first playoff goal, it was his first at the Garden and saved the Rangers from squandering a 2-0 series lead after failing to hold onto three one-goal leads last night."
At the Daily News, John Dellapina reports..."Staal erased the memory of three nights before and completed a resounding performance that included poking the puck away from Parise to start the counterattack that ended with Straka's second-period goal."
Also at the Daily News, Filip Bondy says the Rangers have more fire power than the Devils and last night's up tempo game proved that..."Back and forth they went, one odd-man rush answered by another, until finally Staal slapped home the winner for a 3-1 series lead. And along the way, something finally became apparent: The Rangers are the better team in this series, at any tempo. They have the firepower and they have the finishers."
Jay Greenberg at The New York Post says Staal is savoring sweet redemption..."Staal looked like a burgeoning Larry Robinson, moving the puck with one arm, holding off Devils with the other, and in the end, iron-willing his own bad luck to good."
Also at The Post, Larry Brooks reports on a visit from Glen Sather after last night's game..."If the Rangers needed reminding, if the presence of Cup-winners Jaromir Jagr , Brendan Shanahan, Scott Gomez and Chris Drury wasn't enough to state the obvious, a five-time Cup winner named Glen Sather spoke up in the postgame locker room. 'Glen came in and reminded us that the fourth game is always the hardest to win,' Brandon Dubinsky said..."
Lynn Zinser at The New York Times reports on Staal's attempt to grow a playoff beard, as well as his goal..."Staal is the youngest Ranger, having turned 21 in January. He is struggling to grow something resembling a playoff beard, which is only tufts of strawberry blond hair on his chin."
