Rangers vs. Islanders Part II

Tonight the New York Rangers (34-24-9) visit the New York Islanders (32-29-7) in the second game of the home-and-home. Wade Dubielewicz could be in net again as the Islanders try to complete the home-and-home sweep after their 4-3 shootout win on Tuesday. While Nolan remained noncommittal on Wednesday, DiPietro and Dubielewicz each said they expected the other to start. The Islanders are in 11th place in the Eastern Conference, but just three points out of the eighth and final playoff spot. They won Tuesday for the second time in six games despite putting only 18 shots on net. The Rangers, meanwhile, are 7-0-3 over their last 10 games and tied with Boston for sixth in the conference. However, they fell to 1-3-1 against the Islanders this season. For a full preview go to Yahoo! Sports.

...I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'd rather see DiPietro in goal for the Islanders tonight. It seems like Dubielewicz has our number.

...a few reports are saying that Strudwick could be back in the lineup for Backman tonight. Which would be a welcome lineup change.

...big game for Lundqvist. If he faulters, we could have a legitimate goaltending controversy brewing here.

...in the Rangers last eight games they have scored 34 goals. That's over four goals a game. I remember earlier this year when we couldn't score 4 goals in a week.

...more help on the out-of-town scoreboard with Buffalo losing in regulation and Ottawa losing in OT.
