Drury Time

Chris Drury's heroics garnered him a lot of press today. Here's some...

Larry Brooks at The New York Post writes...

"Chris Drury may not see dead people, but he has buried many a puck and many a team in the most important moments of the most important games...

...Last night at the Rock, the clock was tick-tick-ticking away on the game and, in essence, on whatever chance the New York Rangers were going to have at making a dash down the stretch to capture the East title.

It was 1-0 Devils with fewer than five minutes to go in third, just as it had been 1-0 Devils from the 6:05 mark of the first.

In other words, Drury Time. Time for the Big Moment Kid."

At the New York Times, Lynn Zinser says...

"All it took for Rangers center Chris Drury to change Wednesday night’s game was a split second, a sliver of time and space in front of Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur. He crouched low, making himself smaller than his 5-foot-10 frame, collected a pass, and snapped the puck into the Devils’ net all in one moment.

It was classic Drury, tying the game with less than five minutes left, stealing what seemed like a sure Devils victory at Prudential Center."

...it's almost enough to make you forget about Drury's goal with 7.7 seconds left against us last year in Game 5. Well...maybe not.
