Malik's In, Power Play Units Changed

Steve Zipay at Blue Notes reports...

- Marek Malik (shoulder) returns to the lineup tonight against the Penguins, with Jason Strudwick sitting out. Malik and Michael Roszival should re-team on D as well.

-Most of the skate was devoted to the ailing power play. The first unit was Shanahan-Dubinsky-Jagr, with Backman and Roszival; the second, Straka up front with Gomez and Drury, and Tyutin and Girardi at the back. The goal: More pucks on net. Sounds simple, right?

...happy to see Malik back in there. I'm still serious.

...why is Tyutin still on the power play? While he is great defensively and chips in with the occasional offense, there is no way he should still be on the point on the power play. He cannot hit the net. Staal should be given a chance.

...and why is Straka out there instead of Dawes? Dawes is a pure goal scorer and Straka has been lost lately. If Renney isn't happy with Dawes then I'd still rather Callahan or Sjostrom over Straka.
