Andrew Gross at Ranger Rants reports that Olli Jokinen's agent Todd Diamond says his client is happy to come back to the Eastern Conference where he played seven seasons with the Florida Panthers...
“Olli is happy to come back East, where he had success,” Diamond said. “I think it’s a good fit.”
Diamond also dismisses the notion that Jokinen is a locker room cancer...
“It’s B.S. that he’s bad in the locker room, nothing could be further from the truth,” Diamond said. “He’s a leader by example. You can ask Wayne Gretzky how he was with the younger players. It just didn’t work out in Phoenix.”
...we're all rooting for this to work Olli. Even if it doesn't we'll be thankful for the cap room.
On the Rangers need for a seventh defenseman, Gross says look for them either to swing a separate deal or to promote Ilkka Heikkinen.
