Rangers 2, Senators 1, SO

The New York Rangers (14-5-2) defeated the Ottawa Senators (6-9-3) by the score of 2-1 in a shootout tonight. For a recap and box score go to newyorkrangers.com.

For post game quotes from Tom Renney go to the Rangers Report.

...apparently the new game plan for the Rangers is to do absolutely nothing the first two and a half periods, hope Lundqvist keeps it close, tie it late in the third period and win it in a shootout. Whatever, as long as we keep winning.

...is there anyone in the league you hate more than Ruutu? I can't wait for Saturday when Orr and Mara give him a smack down.

...not sure what happened with Voros and Zherdev but they were definitely in Renney's 'chateau bow-wow' tonight. Glad to see Zherdev was able to perservere and score the shootout winner.

...i think we can officially say that Korpikoski is comfortable in the NHL. He seems real sure of himself out there. Much better than the beginning of the season.

...speaking of comfortable I think Staal is becoming very confident in his offensive game. Five more shots on goal for him tonight giving him nine in the last three games.

...was it me or did I actaully see Orr on the power play?

...off day tomorrow then Vancouver is in town for what could be the best goaltending match-up of the year. You think Renney might start Valiquette to give Lundqvist a rest? Yeah I don't think so either.

Another mediocre effort until the end of the game. I'll be at the Vancouver game and they'd better be on point!
