The New York Rangers defeated Metallurg Magnitogorsk by a score of 4-3, today in Switzerland to win the inaugural Victoria Cup. The Rangers ended the preseason with a 3-5 record.

...amazing comeback for the Rangers to save face. This would have been a disaster worse than the economic crisis if they would have lost.

...i contribute the slow start to the Rangers probably not expecting much from Magnitogorsk. But when push came to shove it was nice to see the team step up.

...while I've been an advocate for Gomez getting the "C". Today's inspired performance from Chris Drury, including a Bobby Orr type goal (see picture above), clinched him getting the "C" for me.

...i was surprised to see Rissmiller get the last line-up spot ahead of Sjostrom. Not a good sign for Sjo.

...after giving up a few weak goals it was nice to see Lundqvist bounce back with a strong effort.

...this comeback win gives me a warm fuzzy feeling going into the season opener against Tampa.
