So Who's Wearing the "C" Next Year?

Both Sam Weinman at the Rangers Report and Steve Zipay at Blue Notes take a look...

Weinman says...

"...the smart bet is on Chris Drury given his track record, his long-term contract, and the fact that he seems to embody everything that Tom Renney and Co. want out of their captain."

Zipay adds...

"My money's on Chris Drury."

Both also agree that Gomez should get one "A" and Naslund could be up for the second. However, Zipay adds that Redden could be in contention. Each also mentions the possibility of Shanahan if the Rangers re-sign him (please God no).

...i'm actually going to go the other way and say I'd like to see Gomez with the "C". After two years of a laid back captain. I'd like to see someone with a little fire. Weinman even mentions that Drury is similar to Jagr saying "he’s not the fire-and-brimstone type." This team needs a spark at the top and Gomez would be perfect.
