Venom Towards Cherepanov from Blueshirt Bulletin

In response to 2007 Ranger first round draftee Alexei Cherepanov saying that the Blueshirt Bulletin is spreading rumors about him attending training camp this year, Dubi at the Blueshirt Bulletin has this to say...

"Alex, you've been talking out of both sides of your mouth about your intentions since you were drafted. So let me tell you a little something. These days, to be a New York Ranger, it's not enough to just want to be a New York Ranger, you have to prove it, prove that you're worthy of it. You're going to go up against guys who don't have half your talent, but who have ten times your desire, and who want nothing more than to make sure you don't take away a job they have their sights set on. That's the way they've been raised, and that's the right way for a prospect to behave...

...You want to stay in Russia? Stay in Russia -- there's no Brandon Sutter in Russia, so if you want to take the easy way out, take the easy way out, as Renney said. Anyway, we don't want anyone who comes just for the paycheck and doesn't want to be a New York Ranger -- been there, done that, wrote the rant. Those days are over."

...wow Dubi tell us how you really feel. This is a must read for every Ranger fan.

What is wrong with this guy Dubi? The kid has a contract with the Russian club. The Rangers knew that when they drafted him and it was always understood that he wouldn't be playing in the NHL until the 2009-2010 season. He never said he didn't want to play for the Rangers. Dubi goes on the talk about Dubinsky, Staal, and other Rangers saying they have the desire to play for the Rangers but Cherepanov does not. Sure, they also didn't have a contract with a team in Russia. Unles the Rangers reach an agreement with the Russian club the kid is obligated to play in Russia next year. Get with the program guy.
