Dawes, Ortmeyer Find New Homes

TSN reports that former Ranger Nigel Dawes was claimed off of waivers by the Calgary Flames. Dawes, a restricted free agent, was reportedly looking for a one-way deal for less than $1 million, but was instead put on waivers by the Coyotes. His arbitration case with the Flames will be heard next Wednesday, if the Flames don't sign him before then.

...would like to see Dawes finally live up to his potential. Maybe he'll summons a little (no pun intended) Theo Fleury magic up in Calgary.

TSN is also reporting that another former Ranger, Jed Ortmeyer, has been signed by the San Jose Sharks to a one-year contract.

...to see Jed comeback from the pulmonary embolism you've really got to root for him to make an impact with the Sharks. Man I loved that Ortmeyer-Moore-Hollweg line.

You have to "ROOT" for a guy like Ortmeyer.

Has anyone signed Dominic Moore yet. If we could get him cheap, he'd be a nice 4th line center.

Safe to say I wasn't a finalist in the Scripts Howard Spelling Bee. Thanks for the heads-up.
